Overview

The myWLV redesign was my final-year university project. It explored how a redesigned digital student companion could improve accessibility, usability and student engagement by bringing core academic services together within a clearer and more consistent interface.

The problem

Students rely on several university digital services for timetables, grades, staff information and academic support. Fragmented navigation and accessibility limitations can make these services difficult to use, particularly when important information is spread across multiple interfaces.

The solution

I designed and developed a responsive student companion prototype combining key academic functions within one dashboard. The project used React and Tailwind CSS for the interface, Node.js for backend functionality and SQL-based data storage. Development followed user-centred and WCAG 2.2 accessibility principles and included task-based usability testing, questionnaires, A/B comparison and automated accessibility evaluation.
